Introduction

King Abdulaziz University (KAU) seeks to develop the knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 and uses an institutional approach that ensures work continuity and its implementation in accordance with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision. With the assistance of King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST), the Science & Technology Unit (STU) was created as an initiative among others undertaken by KAU in order to achieve its objectives. The STU’s aim is the integration of Grants Program for Universities and Research Centers into KAU's objectives to upgrade the required research infrastructure, and promote scientific research. The STU plans, manages and follows up the research projects of KAU professors, researchers and graduate students who have applied for KACST’s grants to ensure research quality and projects compliant with the requirements of each grant program.

Word from the Director

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and Merciful ; Praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the Master of prophets and messengers, the Master of all the sons of Adam. The Science and Technology Unit (STU) at King Abdulaziz University (KAU), pleased to welcome all visitors to its website, emphasizing our keenness that KAU’s researchers and graduate students find all information they need about grants research programs, namely those offered by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). In addition, the STU website presents national and international research opportunities in pursuance of investing and developing them into research programs and projects. Thanks to Allah, and to the efforts of everyone in the STU, plans have been developed to support KAU’s scientific research programs through external research grants. Moreover, appropriate mechanisms have been put in place to follow up, technically and financially, research projects in order to achieve the desired objectives and to ensure compatibility with the requirements of each grant program. We wish success for all, and may Allah the Almighty help us to confront the changing reality through scientific rationality and raise the level of our university to the status that we look forward: (International Research University), God willing.
